Assembly and Painting Tips

• Sub-Assembly: The robes can obscure the complex mechanical legs and torso. If you want to paint the inner mechanics to a high standard, consider painting the legs and chassis separately from the outer robes.

• Metallic Foundation: Use Leadbelcher for all the mechanical limbs and weapons. Follow this with a wash of Nuln Oil to immediately bring out the detail in the cogs, wires, and joints.

• Cloth Textures: For the robes, use a slightly thicker paint to get good coverage, then use a wash like Agrax Earthshade or a color-matched shade to define the folds. Highlighting the edges of the robes with a lighter shade of your base color will make them look more natural.

• Glow Effects: The weapons (especially the Arc Rifle and Plasma Caliver) often feature coils or energy cells. A bright blue or green glow, painted over a white base, will make these weapons look lethal and high-tech.

• Basing: As they are often deployed on harsh, industrial landscapes or Martian-like forge worlds, a reddish-orange texture paint or a metallic, "factory floor" base style really ties the Adeptus Mechanicus aesthetic together.
